Per an AutoInsuranceEZ study, the fire rate per 100,000 registered vehicles is 25 for EVs, versus 1,529 for hybrids and 1,530 for gas-powered cars. In practice, an EV is roughly 60 times less likely to catch fire than a combustion vehicle. The NFPA confirms the same trend.
